Welcome
or any organisation or company to
reach a milestone as notable as an 85th
anniversary is impressive. For the NCC it is a
testament to the hard work and dedication
its staff have given our industry over the
decades.
Since those early days back in 1939,
when Bill Whiteman founded our trade
association, the positive impact of the
NCC is something we should all be proud
of. The NCC has led the way on ensuring
our voice is heard – and listened to – at
the highest levels of government around
the UK. It has set industry standards and
driven best practice. It has consistently
raised awareness of our important industry
with people from all walks of life. And it
has provided a range of products and
services that have benefitted both our own
businesses and our customers too.
The NCC has always been at the heart
of representing – and championing –
the interests of the industry throughout
F
t is with great pride and appreciation
that we celebrate the 85th anniversary
of the NCC – a milestone that reflects
decades of dedication, innovation and
resilience within our industry.
Since our founding, the NCC has
stood as a pillar of support for all sectors
and businesses operating in the UK
caravan industry – advocating best
practice, fostering collaboration, and
driving progress. Over the years, we have
witnessed incredible transformations in
the sectors – technological advancements,
regulatory changes, and evolving market
demands – all of which have shaped the
UK industry into what it is today.
This achievement is not just about the
association; it is a tribute to our members
and stakeholders who have been
instrumental in shaping our journey. Your
commitment, expertise, and unwavering
support have been the foundation of our
success. Whether through pioneering
innovation, championing best practices,
or engaging in advocacy efforts, you have
helped elevate standards and strengthen
our industry’s future.
I
the supply chain, from the holiday and
residential park sectors, through to leisure
vehicle manufacturers, dealerships,
distributors and the many companies
that form the nucleus of our suppliers and
service providers.
We can only continue this effective work
if we keep supporting the NCC by being
members, putting our collective weight
behind campaigns and working together
under the leadership and guidance of the
NCC on the big issues of the day.
While 2024/2025 represents the 85th
anniversary of our trade association and its
many achievements to date, we
must also remember to look
forward to the years ahead
and ensure we continue
to provide our own
support of the NCC.
Mike Wills
NCC Chairman
While we take this opportunity to
reflect on our history, we also recognise
that the future holds new challenges
and opportunities. Shifting travel
preferences, remote work opportunities,
and a renewed appreciation for the great
outdoors will fuel our future. As we move
forward, the NCC’s mission remains clear
– to provide leadership, resources, and
advocacy that empowers our members
and helps ensure a sustainable, thriving
industry for the future.
This 85th anniversary is not just a
celebration of our past but a commitment
to our future. Together, we will continue to
grow, innovate, and uphold the values that
have defined us throughout.
I extend the NCC’s sincere gratitude to
every member, past and present, who has
contributed to our journey
and we look forward
to shaping the future
together.
Here’s to the next
85 years!
